Slovakian Generous Christmas Kolach - Slovenský štědrák
For those who, like me, have a hard time deciding on a single flavor, there is this amazing invention. It's a close relative to my favorite Western Bohemian Wedding Kolach (chodské svatebni koláče), perhaps slightly less photogenic but maybe even more perfect in the way it layers (literally) all the good stuff. Made with butter and egg based yeast dough, and several classic fillings of poppy seed, plum and apple butter, ground spiced nuts, and dried fruits. This is a 'loaded' Christmas treat that tastes great any day of the year.
